This model has 40 watts of power, so your voice will be heard from 1,000 yards away. The PMP48IR is equipped with a 10 second memory — perfect if you need to broadcast the same message repeatedly. And if you simply need to get everyone's attention, switch to the siren mode to activate a loud, powerful alarm sound. Works great for indoors or outdoors.

PMP48IR megaphone Review by E.O. Smith Hgh School Crew
    Quality
We use the megagphones to coach rowing frmo a launch. Our previous megaphone did not amplify as much as our Pyles at half output. The Pyles also amplify more clearly and do not weigh much. Shortcomings: 1) No "on" trigger, so that the megaphone stays on all the time unless shut off. 2) The Pyles seem prone to occasional feedback. 3) The rechargeable battery does not fit exactly in the battery chamber. The PMP48IR's are a good deal for the price. (Posted on 6/8/2016)

Just got this is the mail today. Do you know how to connect the rechargeable battery??? Thanks Don
    A:
The charged battery actually fits inside the megaphone and plugs into the megaphone with the two wire lead.

Primarily interested in how close is the sound of the siren to a police siren as opposed to an alarm siren?
    A:
Yes the siren sound like an emergency vehicle siren.
